An artist for over 30 years Mary’s work has appeared in galleries, books, magazines, newspapers, the Portland city art collection and, more recently, in monasteries. Mary now focuses on painting Buddhist Images using a form know as iconography. The results, based on the Tibetan style, are called thangkas, a few examples are shown below. You can see more of Mary’s work here and learn about the techniques and traditions of this thousand year old style. Mary’s work is done on commission or sometimes as gifts.
